James Barnet

James and his wife Tina are GrazingforProfit®, GraduateLink (now Next Steps coaching) and ExecutiveLink® graduates who reside in Orange, NSW. James took up his full-time position with RCS in 2015, when he and Tina sold their property at Guyra in northern NSW where they spent 14 years developing the property using RCS principles. 

James has a passion for measured performance selection in sheep and cattle, the adoption of technology and business analysis to assist in building profitable and sustainable operations.  

James has a strong background in family and corporate agriculture. He was brought up on a family operation in north-western NSW and later the New England where he managed the fine wool and beef business. 

After joining AACo to manage a large sheep, cattle and forage cropping property at Coonamble in north-western NSW, he updated the wool marketing strategy and implemented changes to infrastructure and the breeding programs for the sheep and cattle enterprises. Later he managed Clyde Agriculture’s expansion into prime lambs and beef at Walcha. 

James was with AACo for 12 years, managing properties in north-western NSW and western Queensland. He also oversaw station management as a Regional Manager on properties ranging from Ayr to Windorah. Later, as General Manager for Livestock Logistics he was responsible for the preparation of livestock budgets, co-ordination of all livestock movements within the company and the timing of turnoff. James also participated on the AA Co stud breeding panel in the early days of the company’s composite breeding program. 

Decades of hands-on experience allows James to provide practical, professional advice to clients on how to transform their businesses and lives across Australia.
