The RCS Grazing Clinic is a practical hands-on workshop that develops your skills as a grass manager.
This power-packed two-and-a-half-day clinic will give you the confidence and practical know-how to go home and begin implementing. The RCS Grazing Clinic covers the principles and practices of grazing management, including how to design and manage a grazing cell and how to use grazing charts as a planning and decision-making tool.
The course has a complete focus on implementation. We deal with the “real-life stuff” that actually counts when it comes to getting the most out of your land, livestock and business.

All morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas are included, plus dinners on the first and last night. Travel, accommodation, breakfasts, and all other evening meals are additional and the responsibility of the participant.

As our knowledge and environment evolves, so do we. We continually update our content to create the best program possible, so the outline below is a guide only.
Day 1: Introduction to the course and review of the pre-course preparation. Begins at 2pm and finishes at approximately 6pm followed by dinner.
The remainder of the course begins at 8am each day and finishes at approximately 6pm.
Day 2: The Three Secrets of Profit, business analysis tools, business control tools, people management, Visions and Goals.
Day 3: Overcoming constraints, planning tools, analysing a business, benchmarking, finance, and money management.
Day 4: Ecology, grazing management systems, regenerative grazing principles.
Day 5: Property planning, grazing errors, field trip.
Day 6: Drought planning, grazing review, reproduction, nutrition.
Day 7: Review, time management, working on the business, pulling it all together. Special Graduation Dinner.
Program sizes vary with the maximum number of participants capped at 48. Our friendly delivery team ensures the pace and content is adapted to suit everyone’s learning style and level. Regardless of program size, you’ll work in a group with four to five other participants.

“A lack of agricultural experience isn’t a problem as the program isn’t just about farming. It is holistic and also goes into personal development, finance, and team building. It helps to have an interest in agriculture; however, the training is delivered within groups so the other members of your group can help you understand the finer points of agriculture. The season in SA and Tassie is particularly tight right now with little or no useful rain since early January and a generally failed 2023 spring prior to that. Martha Lindstad and partner Robert James are farm managers on ‘Karalee’, Enngonia NSW. Both have travelled different paths to being where they are. Martha is originally from Norway, growing up on a three hectare farm before travelling to New Zealand and eventually the Pilbara in Western Australia. It was here that she saw the benefits of sustainable farming for the country and livestock.
