No! It’s for everyone. Here’s a reference from James Ryan, course graduate – RCS Grazing Clinic in Orange NSW 2024.
Hi Jess,
I just wanted to give some more feedback about the course. I have had more of a chance to take it all in this afternoon and felt the need to give better feedback than I did on the form at the end today and to say thank you.
I’ve always dreamt of being a farmer but having no background in farming and not really knowing anyone in the industry I didn’t feel it was accessible to me. I wasn’t sure how I could make it work and build a career in farming.
This course has given me the foundation and confidence that farming is something I can do and with a bit more development and time it won’t just be a dream. Over the last few years I’ve been wading through the mountains of information online and at times have felt lost with it all. I now feel like I have a much clearer picture and a path to follow going forward. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and can’t wait to start using the knowledge I have gained on my small property to develop my skills.
Last of all I just wanted to say a big thank you. I’ve done a lot of courses / training days (not in farming) over the years and what stood out for me was how genuine and open you are to share your knowledge and experiences which was much appreciated and I took so much from it. I felt like you have a real passion for the industry and not just there to collect a pay cheque which is rare to see.
Thanks again
James Ryan

Dennis Donohoe, farm manager with Aminya Pastoral, is a seasoned producer with decades of experience, and his story is a testament to how even minor changes in farming practices can lead to significant improvements in productivity and land health.
Once you have ownership as to why planning is important, the next ingredient is to work out where and how you will do your planning. When you write something down you change your relationship with the content. I cannot emphasise enough the power of getting your thoughts and plans out of your head onto paper or the computer.
The season in SA and Tassie is particularly tight right now with little or no useful rain since early January and a generally failed 2023 spring prior to that. Right now, across southern Australia and much of the eastern NSW, you won’t need to drive far out into the countryside to see cattle and sheep grazing (and lying on) hay and silage trails lined across paddocks.
Martha Lindstad and partner Robert James are farm managers on ‘Karalee’, Enngonia NSW. Both have travelled different paths to being where they are. Martha is originally from Norway, growing up on a three hectare farm before travelling to New Zealand and eventually the Pilbara in Western Australia. It was here that she saw the benefits of sustainable farming for the country and livestock.
