Restore AustraliaA groundbreaking approach is being planned for Australian regenerative agriculture.

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller

Australian agriculture is blessed with many innovative, passionate, resourceful individuals and organisations striving to improve the livelihoods of farming communities across the nation.  It’s a big job, it’s a labour of love in many respects and that’s because we care passionately about the future of our land and our food and fibre. So how do we work smarter, faster, more effectively to achieve positive change and at scale?

In the past few months, the Global Evergreening Alliance has been leading an innovative plan to address this question. RCS, along with a swag of other organisations and experts, are assisting to develop a collective approach towards the delivery of existing and emerging restorative practices aimed to achieve ambitious targets for restoring landscapes and sequestering carbon. This is Restore Australia.

To make this happen, all approaches are being considered to best influence the implementation of restorative practices. These include education, support, on-ground implementation, research and development, policy, advocacy and engagement, building indigenous involvement, building capacity and scale and measuring and evaluating outcomes.

You might think I’m biased in adding that the RCS team consider our project partners to be the best in the nation, and we are looking forward to receiving the green light to commence Restore Australia. We are so proud to be involved in building a project that supports outcomes for landholders and future generations.

Through Restore Australia, our farming communities, including traditional owners, can look forward to:

  • Becoming more resilient to climatic conditions,
  • Pocketing the productivity benefits, and most importantly,
  • Experiencing continued growth towards securing a long and healthy future for the landscape of which they are custodians today.

We look forward to providing you with more detailed information as the project planning progresses. Keep an eye out for the avenue we’re creating for you to express your interest in being part of Restore Australia.
