KIT Field days are an opportunity for like-minded people to gather on a property to discuss topics relevant to that region and see firsthand how RCS principles are being applied in similar land types and production systems. We encourage you to invite neighbours, staff, family and friends as everyone is welcome.
- Regenerating degraded country – Inputs and methods to trial
- Recovering from droughts/dry periods in an erratic climate
- Managing timber and regrowth
- Property development – Fencing and water design
Wes and Margaret have recently purchased “Glenlovely” at Yelarbon. It is approximately 2,000 acres with a wide range of soil and timber. Areas of brigalow/belah, pine, box and even a little bit of spinifex. They would like to see “Glenlovely” covered in resilient pastures for grazing by a mixed livestock trading operation.
Wes and Margaret took over the property on October 1 this year and will run the place together. Margaret is also the Principal in a nearby New South Wales School. They are really looking forward to some collaborative planning and feedback on possible future directions.
It is clear to Wes that moving forward all producers will have to problem solve around the way land is managed given the extremities of weather which are now are reality for all.
