KIT days are an opportunity for like-minded people to gather on a property to discuss topics relevant to that region and see firsthand how RCS principles are being applied in similar land types and production systems. We encourage you to invite neighbours, staff, family and friends as everyone is welcome.
- Regrowth control (animal versus mechanical)
- Improved pastures
- Cell grazing
- Stock density
‘Weeallah’ is 30,567 acres of mainly loamy soils growing Buffel grass and Mitchell grass growing on the black soils. The feral fence around the boundary was completed Nov 2016.
Dave moved to ‘Weeallah’ in October 1996, married Kate in 2010, and they now both manage the family run beef property with one permanent man and usually a backpacker to help out.
The enterprises include mainly trading cattle whilst the cells are being created with 800 acres of oats planted for the winter months.
Dave and Kate are currently rotating mobs but looking to have 11,000 acres under cells by end of Sept 2018. They are also looking to increase infiltration by creating more ground cover using time controlled grazing methods.
Along with Dan (permanent man), they have just completed the RCS Next Steps program and are looking forward to joining the ExecutiveLink™ ranks.
